Information Management and Information Systems(Chinese-taught program)

In the era of the digital economy, there is a growing demand for professionals whopossess interdisciplinary knowledge in information, management, and economics, along with the ability to analyze and manage data, as well as design, develop, and implement information systems. The Information Management and Information Systems (IMIS) program is one of the most sought-after majors in the information age and the “Internet+” environment. This program focuses on the integration of information technology, data science, and modern management concepts. As society and enterprises accelerate their digital transformation and the network economy expands, the demandfor IMIS professionals continues to rise.

Established in 2001, the IMIS program at our university is one of the earliest of its kind in China, with a long history and profound academic heritage. For years, the program has been dedicated to the intersection of management, economics, and information technology, cultivating high-level professionals with innovative thinking and diverse development opportunities in the digital economy era. The curriculum includes courses such as Internet Data Analysis, Information System Analysis and Design, Database Principles, Fundamentals of Programming, Data Mining and Machine Learning, E-Commerce, Economics, and Management. The teaching process emphasizes the development of practical application skills. In recent years, the graduation advancement rate of IMIS students has steadily increased. Graduates are widely employed at renowned internet and IT companies such as Alibaba, Kingdee, and NetEase, as well as in banks, hospitals, public institutions, and government departments.
