The Applied Statistics professional degree program aims to cultivate high-level, applied statistical specialists who are equipped to meet the demands of modern economic and social development. Integrating economics and management disciplines, the program provides systematic training in modern statistical theory and analytical methods. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to collect, process, analyze, and develop data, enabling them to address practical challenges in various industries, including information management, data analysis, decision support, and statistical consulting in enterprises and institutions.
The program offers four main research directions: Management Statistics and Business Decision-Making, Financial Statistics and Investment Risk Control, Economic Statistics and Economic Development Evaluation, Sino-German Digital Economy and Industrial Policy. The program currently has 11 master’s supervisors, including 5 professors (or equivalent senior titles) and 5 associate professors (or equivalent associate senior titles)，where 9 faculty members hold doctoral degrees. Among the key instructors, there are 1 Provincial Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions, 1 Provincial “Seven Batches” Talent in the Propaganda and Culture System, 2 Provincial “151 Talent Project” Members, 2 Zhejiang Youth Social Science Scholars. The program has a strong research profile and extensive experience in postgraduate education. It demonstrates high academic competence, with an average annual research funding of 56,500 RMB per capita and an average of 5.8 published research papers per capita. Faculty members have been awarded 6 provincial and ministerial research awards. The program emphasizes case-based teaching and practical training, supported by long-term stable and collaborative practice bases, as well as a sufficient number of industry instructors. The high-quality talent cultivation quality is seen by 2 provincial teaching achievement awards in the past three years and the approval of 2 provincial elite courses.
